Lilo and Stitch

I have shown and talked about my interest in Lilo and Stitch, but given that I see the world differently, I thought it would be a good idea to go through what I see in the movie.
The first thing that stood out was the first scene. Stitch is a genetically modified alien and created against galactic law. He is called an abomination for just being him, much like a child someone else created him, he didn’t choose to exist.
This is where Stitch begins his story and he’s already being judged for just being him. He acts out of instincts and impulse and escapes to earth.
He finds himself in a world he doesn’t understand, doesn’t know how to communicate and feels completely lost. He doesn’t know how to be himself or if he even should even exist. Everything feels foreign to him and as a result he feels completely alone.
He meets someone that doesn’t judge him for being different. She tries to explain, adapt and understand. She becomes his anchor in a world full of waves.
She helps guide him, show him that he doesn’t need to be afraid. He can be him and have love and a family. Have somewhere he belongs, his ohana...
“In the ‘ohana there was a sense of shared involvement, mutual responsibility, interdependence and helpfulness. The ‘ohana meant love and loyalty. All its members practiced the spirit of sharing and caring. Forgiveness was very important.”
I love Stitch, because I was him... and I will always see a reflection of myself in his story.
