Human (Rewrite)

Human by Rag ‘N’ Bone Man

Human

(autistic community version)

I’m only human

I’m only, I’m only

I’m only human, human

Maybe I’m foolish

Maybe I’m blind

Together we do this

A world that is kind

I think we could do it

Or maybe I’m blind

Cos I’m only human after all

I’m only human after all

Are you the same as me

Are you the same as me

Take a look in my mirror

What can you see

Because you see it clearer

I was deceived

In what I believed

But I’m only human after all

We’re only human after all

Don’t put the shame on me

Don’t put your blame on me

Some people get a great life

Some people get none

Some people accepted

Now isn’t that dumb

But I’m only human after all

Only human after all

Are you the same as me

Are you the same as me

Ask my opinion

Don’t tell me to lie

Then call me offensive

For making you cry

That makes me cry

‘Cause I’m only human after all

Only human after all

Don’t put that shame on me

Don’t put the blame on me

Some people get a great life

Some people get none

Some people accepted

Now isn’t that dumb

But I’m only human after all

Only human after all

Are you the same as me

Are you the same as me

I’m only human

Make mistakes

Don’t we all

But I take the fall

Don’t put no shame on me

Don’t put no shame on me

Inside there is a burning desire

Come together to take us higher

Cos I’m only human after all

I’m only human after all

Are you the same as me

Are you the same as me

I’m only human

I do what I can

I am who I am

I do what I can

Are you the same as me

Are you the same as me

Today's post is one of the first Au-thentic versions I wrote. I had no idea how popular they would become, or how many artists and bands would share them to their pages. Revisiting these rewrites, especially the early ones, brings up some really beautiful memories. I was once told that mylifeautistic was a lighthouse of hope, that hope can always be found there. The truth is, it's become that for Jeni and I too, and we appreciate that constantly.
