We Need Change

I am different but my differences shouldn't have led to the dark and isolating life I had. I am on a mission to truly unite the autistic community. Bring us together and as an autistic human rights activist, protect and support my community. There is a real void when it comes to representation, support, and inclusion. I want to try to change all of that, help create understanding and safe spaces for the autistic community. Lives are very different for us, it feels like we have to fight to get what others take for granted. Choices in our own lives, positive self image, sense of achievement, and often even basic human interaction. I use my voice and my experiences to raise awareness and help create acceptance. But everything I do is to bring light into the future of as many autistic people as I possibly can. We are autistic people but the emphasis should always be on that we are people, not that we are autistic. I want to speak passionately for my community. I want to help stop human rights violations. I want to bring hope to a vast community of autistic people and caregivers that desperately need more of it. Basically I want to see real change because I have to hope things can be better. I look at my life and lives of those in the community. I see people that didn’t have enough of a chance. That were not understood or often accepted and paid the price in pain because of it.
