With wording being more absolute to me some sayings really throw me.
It’s in the last place you look.
Congratulations, you’ve discovered the concept of finding things.

Look... I’ll look, calculate, consider, re-evaluate, and if my instincts say no, I ain’t going no where.
Better late than never.
Yeah, try that at a wedding if you’re the one that’s getting married and see if you get away with it.

Used as a term to make someone comfortable, if you break real ice and are on it, comfort isn’t my first thought...
It’s raining cats and dogs.
Strong winds called updrafts can sweep up animals. Frogs, bats, jellyfish, worms, locusts, birds, crabs, snakes, and other fish are some of the animals reported to have “rained down” on communities all over the world. Many of these reports, however, remain unproven.
Still not one historical report of a dog or cat!
