Mental Messages
“All those days watching from the windows, all those years outside looking in, all that time never even knowing, just how blind I’ve been, now I’m here blinking in the starlight, now I’m here suddenly I see, standing here it’s all so clear, I’m where I’m meant to be.” Not my words, but they really could have been. Oddly so, a familiarity to my own life that is undeniable. Have you ever had a song stuck in your head that you didn’t know where it came from. You haven’t heard it recently, you may even be unsure what the song even is. Focus on those, find the song if you can, and read the lyrics. You may find it’s actually your instincts sending your consciousness a message. Seriously, I’m not kidding. Several months ago I was really struggling to see the merit in my own work, in my achievements. I was completely blind to how far I had come in my journey, despite others telling me often. That’s when it started, a song that was in my head every day for about 6 weeks. I eventually worked out that it was a song from a Disney film. I hadn’t actually seen much of Tangled but I was in the kitchen when my daughter watched it in the living room. I couldn’t see the progress I’d made, so my mind found a song with lyrics that absolutely fit the situation. Replaying that song in my head over and over again until I finally understood. Until I got the message I am who I’m meant to be, and I’m where I’m meant to be. That my life is no longer cocooned in darkness... “And at last I see the light...” All my best and love Ross www.mylifeautistic.com Words – Ross A Fraser Graphic Design App – Canva #NewLifeAutistic
