Masking

Updated: Apr 12, 2023

Masking is something we mention often, so we thought it would be good to explain it from our perspective. Masking is your instincts guiding you, your own conscious choice, often removed from the equation. If the environments you are in are too visually stimulating, loud, emotionally intense and so on, that can cause a shallow depth of masking. Some people use this as a coping strategy. However the longer this continues, the more lost you can feel. Traumatic experiences also reinforce masking. The consciousness clouded by instinctual fears and doubts.

I was so deeply masked, that when I unmasked, I lost years of masking data. The information that guided me when masking .

I have more awareness of the world before the year 2000. This is why I feel like I’m in a back to the future movie. Because my locked conscious memories, are now unlocked. Which caused my masked memories to fade to the back of my mind. I now go on websites, that I know that I have used before, but it seems foreign to me. A brief recollection if anything.

I still have some awareness of masked memories, but only slight, and that includes my wedding. The residual memories, are mainly of my two best friends, my wife and daughter. I now have a deeper recall of my childhood and the last two years. Unmasking left me with very little to remember of my life, between the age of 16/17 to 40.

To my consciousness, it feels like my mind jumped twenty years into the future. A lot of my masked memories dissipated, when I do recall one it's often like looking at someone else’s memories. They are my own but don’t feel like it. I must admit at times like this I really don’t know what to do about that. It’s why I haven’t done many videos, it’s the tech that confuses me. Hopefully I’ll get it figured out this summer, and get a set up that allows for easy recording and uploading. I’ve used technology, I apparently used to be really good at it. Now I often just feel like I’m waiting for Marty and Doc to pick me up and take me back to the 90’s.

All our best and love
