I left Inverness because I didn’t think I could be myself there. Having conditional communication abilities did make it a tough journey. However, there are some positive memories and locations that remind me of spending time with my family. Small and distant recollections but joyful moments.
One such place is the Eastgate Shopping Centre Inverness. I used to work in the Game store in Eastgate centre for a while. A place that I spent many hours alphabetizing the games on the shelves. I normally struggle in shops because they can feel very crowded and loud. What made the Eastgate centre different, was the clock. Something that I was drawn to at a young age. On the hour it would spring to life, filling the space with music, and doors opening to reveal images hidden inside. It’s not unlike an advent calendar. An announcement that is made through time and revelation.
I remember one Christmas buying a Where’s Wally book with my mum and then running to see the clock. All this is to say that I am so happy and appreciative to announce that a banner will be on display in the Eastgate Centre during December. It’s really heartwarming to know that it’s somewhere that my family may be able to visit.
This just leaves one last banner to confirm which I hope we will have tomorrow midday.
All our best and love
